Prof. Dr. Narayanan Kulathu Ramaiyer

Area of Speciality: Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science

Prof. Narayanan is a distinguished leader and researcher in Social Informatics and Technological Innovation. Since 1992, he has been involved in 18 impactful research projects, authored 32 publications, and secured RM2.3 million in grants. He is also experienced in TRIZ (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving) from the TRIZ masters of MATRIZ and initiated the UNIMAS Ideal Campus powered by TRIZ in 2019. His extensive experience and significant contributions underscore his pivotal role in driving the Institute towards excellence and discovery.

Associate Professor Dr. Halikul bin Lenando
Computer Science and Information Technology
Area of Speciality: ICT Infrastructure

Associate Professor Dr. Halikul Lenando has served Universiti Malaysia Sarawak for almost 20 years as an academician. He has been appointed in the faculty management as Deputy Dean, Head of Department, and Progamme Coordinator. He obtained his PhD in Mobile Communication discipline from Cardiff University, United Kingdom in June 2012. His research interest is in mobile communication networks specializing in the communication protocols and data dissemination performance in opportunistic networks. Currently, he is actively conducting research in mobile sensor networks communication research group in his faculty. As to enrich his expertise, he has been appointed to be a fellow researcher of the Institute of Social Informatics and Technological Innovations (ISITI) under the Network Communication Infrastructure team.

Area of Speciality: Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, Legislation and Biotethics

His career has involved administration and academia. In an administrative capacity, he has experience leading Malaysian students in Norwich, United Kingdom, serving as a fellow of a residential college, and currently holding the position of principal at UNIMAS Medical College. His additional responsibilities as a webmaster for the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences provide him with more exposure to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and interaction with the wider world community.


In academia, he has both international and local experience communicating research and ideas at conferences and seminars. His areas of specialty—physiology, molecular genetics, and biomedical science—require effective communication to deliver complex topics to a diverse audience. Furthermore, supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate students has enhanced his academic, administrative, and social skills. Overall, he has confidence in his ability to improve and become a better player in academia with international contributions.

Mr. Jonathan Sidi

Area of Speciality: Multimedia Services, ICT Policies, Computer-based Teaching and learning

Jonathan Sidi is a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak( UNIMAS); obtained his Master in Interactive Multimedia from University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia; BSC ( Hon) Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia(UTM) and PGDip of Teaching & Learning in Higher Education from UNIMAS. His expertise are user experience & user interaction design (UxUi) ; user interface design and gamification. He have vast experiences as ICT trainner and academia both at government and private sector; locally and abroad.

Associate Professor Dr. Rohaya binti Mohd Nor
Economics and Business
Area of Speciality: Management Information System

She is an associate professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNIMAS. She obtained her BSc Degree in Management with MIS from Purdue University, US. She holds a Master of Information Systems from Melbourne University, Australia, and a PhD degree, specializing in MIS, from Imperial College London, UK. She has served UNIMAS for more than 20 years and has assumed several key roles at the university, including Director of UNIMAS Leadership Centre (2020-2022); Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (2016-2017); UNIMAS Senate Member (2016-2017, 2020-2023); Member of University Executive Committee UNIMAS (2015, 2017); Director of Strategic Planning & Quality Management Centre (2015); and Head of Department of Business Management (2010-2013).

She has been involved in several research projects, including international projects funded by the European Commission, and has published her research works both locally and internationally. She is also actively involved as a project coordinator for UNESCO-IHP Malaysia programs for young leaders and communities in the Borneo Zone since 2015. She is a certified Malaysian TRIZ Level 3 Practitioner and also holds a Professional Diploma of Competency-Based Talent Management from UMP and a Postgraduate Diploma in T&L from UNIMAS.

Associate Professor Dr. Ashley Edward Roy A/L Soosay
Medicine and Health Sciences
Area of Speciality: Molecular Genetics

He possesses a distinguished academic and research background. He earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching & Learning from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak in 2010 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Oncology and Genetics from the University of Oxford in the same year. He also holds a Master of Science in Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto, Canada (1998), and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Microbiology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (1993).

He has made substantial contributions across various areas of genetics and medical research. His work includes investigating genetic factors associated with diseases such as thalassaemia and nasopharyngeal carcinoma, focusing on the role of specific genes and genetic variations in these conditions. He has also assessed the impact of educational programs, exploring teaching and learning methodologies to enhance lifelong learning and academic development.

Additionally, he has conducted research on community health, studying disease prevalence and risk factors within specific populations like the Penan community. His work extends to cardiovascular genetics, where he has led studies on genetic markers linked to coronary artery calcification, examining the potential of single nucleotide polymorphisms and microRNAs as biomarkers for cardiovascular diseases. Through these diverse research efforts, he has advanced understanding in genetic disease mechanisms, educational impact, and community health challenges.
